BLUE MOUNTAIN LAKE High Peaks Hospice is seeking volunteers. Hospice volunteers provide emotional support and friendship to patients and their families by providing respite care so caregivers can have some much-needed time off. Volunteers assist with light household chores and help patients with tasks they are no longer able to complete themselves, such as walking the dog. Volunteers visit patients who reside in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, in the hospital and in the patients home. High Peaks Hospice will be offering a free volunteer training on April 21 and 28 in Blue Mountain Lake from 9 to 5:30 p.m. at the Adirondack Museum. Interested persons must pre-register. To learn more about becoming a High Peaks Hospice Volunteer, call Susan Tehon, volunteer coordinator 518-891-0606 or email her at email@example.com.
