Pine Ridge School prepares for annual spring auction

WILLISTON--Pine Ridge School, a Williston, Vermont landmark for more than 35 years, will hold its Annual Spring Auction at the Courtyard by Marriott on Friday, April 20, 2007, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Pine Ridge School is one of the pre-eminent schools in the U.S. dedicated to educating students with learning disabilities so that the students will be able to define and achieve success throughout their lives. Members of the student body at PRS come from all parts of the United States as well as such countries as Canada, several countries in the Middle East, and China. This year's auction is highlighted by trips: a 6-night, 7-day stay in a 2-bedroom townhouse in Hawaii; a one-week stay in a one-bedroom suite in Cancun (sleeps six); Las Vegas gate array: four days/three nights at Caesars including four spa treatments of your choice and dinner; and two nights at Lambert's Cove Inn on Martha's Vineyard, as well as numerous other lengths of stays in bed and breakfasts and fine hotels in the local Chittenden County area. Also high on the list of auction items are tickets to the 2007-2008 series for the UVM Lane Series, the Vermont Symphony Orchestra, the Vermont Mozart Festival, the Flynn Center for the Performing Arts, Lyric Theatre Company, Opera North's 25th season's opening night production of Puccini's Turandot on Aug. 19, and the Green Mountain Opera Festivals June production of Madama Butterfly. The balance of the auction items will appeal to all tastes: if you're a golfer, there are greens fees for two at Basin Harbor Club or for two players/18 holes with cart from the Vermont National Country Club. There are family memberships at Shelburne Farms and at the Maritime Museum; Boston Celtics tickets for the upcoming season; hand-knitted afghans; various kinds of jewelry; and a host of different kinds of gift baskets of Vermont products. The evening will also offer free hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar. Tickets to the event are $5 each and must be purchased by April 16th.
