Omya's purchase of Huber complete

Omya has successfully concluded the acquisition of the Huber Precipitated Calcium Carbonate (PCC) Business. The acquisition totals 11 plants: four in North America (Kentucky, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, and Saskatchewan), five in the European Union with one each in South America and Russia. Omya acquired the Huber PCC Business to emphasize its commitment as a global partner, and to further expand technological leadership and geographical reach within the paper industry. Omya has a firm commitment to existing and new customers, and the addition of PCC to the portfolio of products helps the company more fully serve the global paper market. We visited the North American plants again this week, and are very impressed with the commitment and dedication of each employee, said Jim Reddy, president of Omya Industries Inc. These new members of the Omya team are committed to the business at hand and have been flexible and patient during this acquisition process. We are looking forward to working with them to enhance the PCC product line. Omya produces ground calcium carbonate (GCC), a mineral that is vital to human health and the environment. Industrial applications include paper, paint, and plastic. Precipitated calcium carbonate (PCC) is used extensively in the paper industry.
