Wine tasting and silent auction at the Chester Library

CHESTERTOWN For the second year, the Friends of the Chester Library will sponsor a wine tasting and silent auction from 1-4 p.m. on Sunday, April 29, at the Friends Lake Inn. Inn-keeper John Phillips will offer 10 wines from his generous wine cellar for sampling and purchase. He will provide tasty hot and cold hors-doeuvres to complement the wine and delight the palette. The silent auction will feature the work of many local artisans and gift certificates from local restaurants and businesses. Based on the delight of last years participants, this event should prove to be a crowd pleaser. Community support for special events like this help the friends continue to expand the librarys collections, to purchase needed materials and equipment, and to sponsor programs for the community. Join the friends for an afternoon of good fellowship for a good cause. Reservations may be made at the circulation desk in the Chester Library. A check for $25 per person made payable to the Friends of the Chester Library no later than April 21 will reserve your place at this event.
