TICONDEROGA Two new physician assistants are serving the emergency medical needs of the community. Matt Hinge and Alex Caffrey joined the Moses-Ludington emergency room team March 1. These two people are an excellent addition to our team, said Diane Hart, Moses-Ludington Hospitals chief operating officer. They fit right in with the staff, our patients and our community. Caffrey, who lives in Malta near Saratoga Springs, said she loves the patients she sees here. I also like the small community. And I like that all the patients seem to know all the staff on first-name basis, she said. Caffrey has been working in emergency medicine since 1999. She started out working in pediatric emergency medicine at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore. She and her husband moved to the North Country to be closer to family. She is married and has one child, a baby born in November. Hinge, who has been working in emergency medicine for five years, is also happy to be working at Moses-Ludington. I like emergency medicine, he sids. I like to help people with their emergency injuries and ailments. He lives in Lake Placid with his wife and their two children, ages seven and ten. He and his family are planning to move to Westport.
