Make a headband or earwarmer while learning about the history of Aran Knitting, including information about the origin of some of the basic patterns. We will use basic techniques such as knitting cables without a cable needle. Pattern instructions will include how to convert this to a hat if preferred. Aran Knitting patterns are much easier than most knitters realize. If you can knit and purl you can learn to do this. Some knowledge of basic cables would be helpful, but not necessary.
Tuition $50. Member Tuition $45. Materials Fee $20.
NOTE: Students should bring US #7 needles - straight or circular will work for the headband. If you want to make a hat, a 16” circular will do both. Also, a tapestry needle for seaming and stitch markers.
