Fraktur House Blessing with Carol Maher. #520-0507. 2 evenings.

Try your hand at lettering and decorating a traditional keepsake. These elaborate documents were created by German setters to commemorate birth, marriage, a new home, the new year and other special events. The word fraktur refers to the brokenness of the Old English lettering style used in them. You will learn the history of fraktur, how to form the upper and lower case letters, and how to color a simple borer using a template. You may choose from several sayings, or plan your own wording. Take home a finished 8-1/2" x 11" piece ready to frame as a family heirloom or treasured gift. Students must be 18 years or older.

Tuition $95. Member Tuition $85. Materials Fee $15.
