Gourd Dream Catcher with Carol Maher. #515-0617. 2 days.

A Native American tradition teaches that dreams hover near the sleeper, waiting for an opportunity to enter the mind. Grandmother Nokomis spared a spider's life and, out of gratitude, the spider spun a web to trap bad dreams and allow good ones to drift through to her. You can create a lively gourd version of this story to place in your own bedroom or give as a gift. Students will cut and clean their gourd, and choose from a wide variety of finishes for the outside. We will weave the web on the second day.

Tuition $95. Member Tuition $85. Materials Fee $20.
