Introduction to Traditional Wheat Weaving with Beverly Cornelius. #694-0426.

Gloves and mittens are still hand knit in Shetland today. These traditional pieces of knitting combine the elements of Fair Isle through the use of color and pattern. You will begin a pair of patterned fingerless mitts using your choice of colors of Shetland wool. We will cover tangle-free two color knitting, techniques for holding yarns in one or both hands, chart reading, thumbs, and finishing. You will not be able to knit just one pair! Bring sets of double-point needles in sizes US #1 & 2. Yarn will be supplied. A good class for those with basic skills, but experience with double-point needles is helpful.

Tuition $125. Materials Fee $10.

NOTE: This class is part of the 2nd Annual Adirondack Fiber Experience event and will take place at the Fort William Henry Hotel & Conference Center in Lake George, NY.
