Think about all the nails that are used to build your house - then realize that it wasn’t until 1775 that the first nail-making machine was developed in this country. Prior to this time, all nails were made one at a time by the local blacksmiths using nail headers,a simple tool that allowed the smith to form the nails head. This is a great class that will teach you many blacksmithing skills while you make your own nail header. A great class for beginners and experienced blacksmiths alike.
Fee = $170 + materials ($10 – Est.).
NOTE: Hard shoes and long pants are required for student safety.
