Join BRI’s Adirondack Center for Loon Conservation and the Paul Smith’s College VIC for a fun-filled family day celebrating the Common Loon! This is an exciting opportunity to learn about loon natural history, threats affecting their populations, and ongoing loon research and conservation efforts in the Adirondack Park.
There will be “loony” activities for both adults and children, including a loon calling contest, Merriloons the Clown, a presentation and display on loon conservation, music, a field trip to a local pond, face painting, a scavenger hunt, and a silent auction. Results of the ongoing raffle for a fabulous queen-sized loon quilt will be announced at a reception in late afternoon. Free admission.
