Traditional Feltmaking: Felt a Beret with Robin Blakney-Carlson. #261-1116.

The art and craft of contemporary feltmaking is gaining visibility around the world, but the tradition is still misunderstood and often confused with knit and fulled items. Feltmaking is considered to be the earliest form of textile; fragments discovered in Central Asia date back thousands of years. In this class you will learn the traditional form of feltmaking as you create your own beret using wool fiber, soap, water, and your own hands. No prior feltmaking skills are needed, just curiosity and a bit of patience! The instructor will provide all felting supplies and materials. Students should bring a note book and tape measure, wear comfortable shoes to stand in, and have sleeves that can roll up out of the way.

Fee = $85 + $20 for materials.
