Since our early times, logging has been key here in Adirondacks. Whether the logs were used for lumber, home construction, papermaking, or heating, men have been out in the woods cutting and harvesting logs as they still do today. The tools required for logging were made by local blacksmiths and included saws, tongs, cant hooks, and peavies. In this class you will learn to forge a cant hook that you can use when cutting your own firewood. You will learn the history of these tools and create one that will provide you years of service. Open for all levels.
Fee = $170 + materials ($20 - Est.)
NOTE: Hard shoes and long pants are required for student safety.
