Felted Vessel with Carol Ingram. #311-0620. 2 Days.

Vessels or hollow forms can be created several ways depending on the desired result. Colorful wool-blended batts, yarns, and silk will be used to create a vessel using an inflatable ball. There will be a strong emphasis on surface texture and creating a pleasing shape using several sculptural techniques. Methods of stretching, steaming, surface decoration, and stiffening will be covered. Students should bring a plastic bowl or bucket for holding water, soap, either olive-oil based bar or Dawn liquid detergent, two old towels, scissors, tape measure, notebook, and pen. Students may also choose to bring a plastic apron, yarns (wool), and fabric scraps that are of a loose weave (silk works well).

Fee = $170 + $25 for materials.
