Shoebox party for Operation Christmas Child

NORTH CREEK — Operation Christmas Child, a project of Samaritan’s Purse, an international Christian relief agency, is one of North Creek United Methodist Church’s annual outreach projects for the holiday season.
It is a great opportunity for the congregation, kids and adults, to experience the joy of giving to youngsters around the world who are suffering because of war, natural disaster, poverty, disease or neglect.
Each filled shoebox is given as an expression of God’s unconditional love to children we will never know.
This year the church is planning to fill 20 shoeboxes that will be jam packed with small toys, school and hygiene items, and sent off with our prayers.
The “packing party” is followed by a hearty macaroni and cheese lunch. The shoebox party will be held on Sunday, Nov. 11, following worship, where a special tribute will be presented in honor of our nation’s veterans. NCUMC is located on Main St. across from the bank, where the service begins at 9 a.m. with Pastor Terry Mosholder leading worship each Sunday.
Sunday School is available for young children at 9:15 a.m. and offers stories and activities that help little ones understand God’s love for them. The UMC is a Church for the community, and all are welcome to join.
