Vintage Country – It never gets old!
Sometimes being old-fashioned is a good thing, as the audience at Thurman’s Monday Night Concert in the Park at 7 p.m. on July 23 is bound to find out. According to Debbie Pixley of Vintage Country Band, the group’s great mix of old country favorites, ’50s and ’60s tunes and even square dances makes for plenty of traditional fun. “We love what we do, and I love to have fun with the crowd,” she says.
Vintage Country is comprised of Debbie and Wil Pixley, Kenny Darling, and Bub Sherman. They have played all over New York and Vermont, entertaining at venues ranging from dude ranches to night clubs, town parks and fairs. Don’t miss their performance at Veterans’ Memorial Field, 311 Athol Road, Athol, just 6 miles from Northway exit 23 via routes 9, 418 and Athol Road.. Refreshments will be available from Thurman EMS. Guests should bring a comfy chair and wear layered clothing for changeable mountain weather. Concerts in the Park are made possible by Warren County occupancy tax funds granted by the Town of Thurman.
