Volunteers Needed
PLATTSBURGH—Volunteers are needed for TAX-AIDE, a free tax filing program for low and middle income tax payers. The AARP Foundation sponsors the program in conjunction with the IRS.
The Plattsburgh site is located at the Senior Citizens Council of Clinton County, 5139 N. Catherine Street.
About 3000 filers/volunteers are needed for a number of roles: Tax preparers, who receive training in early January; and Client Facilitators, who screen taxpayers making sure that all the necessary paperwork is ready and organized.
The site is run on a “first come, first served basis”, no appointments are made. The site will open Monday, January 23, through Friday, April 13, 2012
If interested in volunteering, call 335-8599 and leave your contact information.
